CLINTON EARLY CHILDHOOD CENTER | RENOVATIONS

Location: CLINTON School District

Size: 18,000 SF

cost: $500,000

The Clinton School District renovated an existing annex building into their early childhood center. incite Design Studio listened closely to the needs of the district, and implemented a renovation to fit within budget for the repurposed space. In order to modify the building for the needs of the district’s youngest learners, incite Design Studio created an interior renovation plan. Restrooms were added to the classrooms, a secured entry vestibule and new front office were designed, an open collaboration area was added, and new finishes, plumbing, and windows were incorporated.

The renovated space features a reading tree, where students and teachers can gather for story-telling. Transparent walls allow for ample daylight into the space. Books and reading chairs are available for small group and individual reading as well.

Bright colors, art-work, safe play areas both inside and out, and ample space for different learning groups were created throughout the building. The flexible space allows for a variety of learning activities to be incorporated for students. The space opened in the Spring of 2016 for the early learners.
