With the data collected and analyzed, iDS and the district created a vision for facility improvements. iDS assisted the district with a successful bond issue passage in April 2017. Among the improvements was the design of a new three story high school addition. iDS kept the design centered around the district’s top priorities of safety and reduced classroom size, while building in an architectural style that reflects the historic importance of the old high school building that was raised for the new addition.
Jackson R-II opted to move the ninth graders from junior high to the high school facility in order to give students a four-year high school experience. included in the new facility is the addition of three classrooms a place for math, social studies, language arts, and science. Additions also consisted of two special education rooms, a computer lab, foreign language, an art room, media center, lecture room, student collaborative space, lockers, food service, along with a communal gathering space with learning stairs.
