Jackson R-II High

The team of architects and engineers conducted thorough evaluations of all eleven schools in the district, generating reports, and introducing a long range master plan for the district. iDS also teamed with a demographer to identify which areas may see a growth or decline of students. With the data collected and analyzed, iDS and the district created a vision for facility improvements. iDS assisted the district with a successful bond issue passage in April 2017. Among the improvements was the design of a new three story high school addition. iDS kept the design centered around the district’s top priorities of safety and reduced classroom size, while building in an architectural style that reflects the historic importance of the old high school building that was raised for the new addition.

Jackson R-II opted to move the ninth graders from junior high to the high school facility in order to give students a four-year high school experience. included in the new facility is the addition of three classrooms a place for math, social studies, language arts, and science.
