MORRIS L. COLLINS EARLY CHILDHOOD CENTER | RENOVATION

Location: Warrensburg R-VI SD

Size: 31,000 SF

As part of its long-range facility planning partnership with the district, iDS identified significant capacity challenges across several elementary schools. In fall 2024, the district purchased a vacant grocery store and partnered with iDS to transform it into a dedicated Early Childhood Center (ECC), relocating a program previously housed across multiple elementary buildings.

Now complete and open to students, the new ECC provides a purpose-built environment for early learners while helping alleviate overcrowding throughout the district. The facility also accommodates the District’s Maintenance Department, providing space for district-wide maintenance and paper goods storage in addition to staff offices and a workshop. The site has also been master planned to allow construction of a Maintenance Annex Building. This allows key operations to be centralized, maximizing the property’s long-term value.
