As part of its long-range facility planning partnership with the district, iDS identified significant capacity challenges across several elementary schools. In fall 2024, the district purchased a vacant grocery store and partnered with iDS to transform it into a dedicated Early Childhood Center (ECC), relocating a program previously housed across multiple elementary buildings.

Now complete and open to students, the new ECC provides a purpose-built environment for early learners while helping alleviate overcrowding throughout the district. The facility features 12 classrooms and dedicated spaces for administration, food service, and special education. The site also accommodates the district’s maintenance department, storage needs, and bus depot, centralizing key operations and maximizing the property’s long-term value.
