WAYNESVILLE R-VI SCHOOL DISTRICT | LONG RANGE FACILITY PLAN

The Waynesville R-VI School District is a fast-growing district with a continuous need for updated facilities to support its students. incite Design Studio began working with the district in late 2020 on a long-range facility plan to assess growth trends and establish a strategic vision for district facilities.

One of the most significant projects emerging from this plan is the brand-new Liberty Elementary School, designed to be a Net Zero facility—meaning it will produce as much energy as it consumes. This forward-thinking approach not only supports sustainability but also reduces long-term operational costs for the district, ensuring an efficient and resilient learning environment for generations to come.

In addition to Liberty Elementary, the long-range plan also included an extensive renovation of the administration suite at the District’s Career Center, located near the high school campus. This project added two secure vestibules, a new walk-in freezer/cooler connected to the existing culinary kitchen, and improved safety and accessibility—all while keeping the career center operational. Beyond these major projects, iDS continues to support the district with various facility improvements, including a new FEMA storm shelter at Freedom Elementary and additional upgrades across multiple buildings. Waynesville R-VI’s commitment to future-ready learning spaces, sustainability, and student safety is evident in every aspect of these facility enhancements, ensuring the district remains a leader in educational innovation.
